1.   Bay Area gas prices generally run higher than other parts of the country because of a combination of reformulated fuel and limited competition among service statins.

2.   But the latest run-up has been accelerated by the scramble to introduce a new reformulated fuel in most large metropolitan areas.

3.   Engelhard said the coating can reduce ozone and poisonous carbon monoxide more than electric cars, reformulated fuels and ride-sharing do.

10.   California motorists, who use more costly blends reformulated fuel to reduce air pollution, were hit even harder.
