1. Are the heating pipes insulated with asbestos? 2. A permanent fix is to take down the inside wall, relocate the pipes inside the insulation, and insulate the pipe itself with foam tube-type insulation. 3. If that happens, insulate the pipes with a compressed fiberglass insulation, considerably more effective than the foam. 4. Insulate hot water pipes where accessible. 5. Make sure that all the pipes are insulated, and pay particular attention to corners. 6. Not only that, the pipe was insulated on the outside with about an inch of rubber. 7. Q.
