1.   These devices are not installed across the entire line, but only on certain machines.

2.   Some hackers even take temporary positions on night cleaning crews so they can browse files, poke through trash or install devices to extract information.

3.   These include fitting cars with catalytic convertors, installing cleaning devices, such as gas scrubbers in power stations, and introducing nitrogen oxide controls.

4.   And the carriers are installing devices in airports that allow passengers who are not checking baggage to print their own boarding passes.

5.   And they have not installed monitoring devices in their planes.

6.   Another proposed change includes having a manual cutoff device installed in two-seat vehicles.

7.   Because of subway construction nearby, devices are being installed to detect any movement of the tower or the ground around it.

8.   A few other manufacturers, including Ford and Honda, have included data recorders on some cars, but GM is by far the leader in installing the devices.

9.   A new regulation taking effect next month requires Gulf shrimpers to install special devices in their nets to reduce the incidental catch of juvenile red snapper.

10.   But so far, only a few municipalities such as San Francisco have installed the devices, and the cost scares off private businesses.
