1.   President Clinton issued an order Tuesday barring federal contracts from companies that knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

2.   Also, Huffington accused Feinstein of hiring illegal immigrants, but admitted that he had no proof -- and in fact had only heard rumors.

3.   And the law has been difficult to enforce, in part because the government has had a hard time proving that employers knowingly hired illegal immigrants.

4.   And tonight, I announce I will sign an executive order to deny Federal contracts to business that hire illegal immigrants.

5.   Another change lowered new fees that corporations would face under the bill when they hire legal immigrants.

6.   According to Moakley spokeswoman Karin Walser, only former Folding Room head Pat McDonough had the power to hire the immigrants.

7.   AFL-CIO leaders are also calling for abolishing a federal law that makes it a crime for employers to hire illegal immigrants.

8.   Brown has opposed the initiative, saying she favors tougher enforcement at the border and employer sanctions against those who hire illegal immigrants.

9.   California should have allowed only those who have never hired an illegal immigrant to vote on this issue.

10.   Clinton recently issued an order barring federal contracts with companies that break immigration laws by hiring illegal immigrants.
