1.   Ample sunshine is expected across much of the South from Texas to Georgia as high pressure builds over the Gulf states.

2.   An inch or two of snow is expected across western Minnesota as this system slides to the east.

3.   Another very pleasant mid-summer day is expected across the Northeast and Middle Atlantic region Sunday.

4.   Another concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms is expected across west Texas.

5.   Areas of light snow will surround a cold front stretching from northern Michigan to New Hampshire, otherwise little precipitation is expected across the region.

6.   As a result, only lighter, more scattered rain showers are expected across the Pacific Northwest.

7.   Below-average temperatures are expected across the eastern part of the country and into the South, Weather Services said.

8.   A bracing day is expected across the Northeast Saturday as brisk winds from the northwest direct unseasonably chilly air southward from Canada.

9.   A dreary day is expected across New England and the Middle Atlantic states.

10.   A dry Election Day is expected across much of the nation as the jet stream retreats toward Canada.
