1.   And the actors seem to be laboring under rigorous constraints.

2.   A bear of a man himself, actors seem to find him a gentle giant whom they can trust.

3.   But as a group, child actors seem unable to properly socialize, too often veering into violence, promiscuity, immorality or drug dependency.

4.   But the actors never seem convinced of that, probably because as they are staring it down they are forced by the screenplay to be witty.

5.   But the actors seem uncomfortable with, and even distanced from, their dialogue, and the result is a doubly affected rendering of affectations.

6.   But with a couple of exceptions, the actors seem far more ill at ease in addressing the anguish underneath.
